Student Soloist Competition
The Ohio University School of Music Student Soloist Competition is an opportunity for outstanding students to earn the privilege of performing as soloists with the Ohio University Symphony Orchestra or Wind Symphony.

The entry deadline is 11/15/2022. Each division (brass, percussion, strings, woodwinds, keyboard, and voice) will hold individual preliminaries and will submit results to fisherc@ohio.edu by 12/10/2022. Selected finalists will compete in person on January 22, 2023. For questions, contact Dr. Christopher Fisher: fisherc@ohio.edu.
Guidelines for Finals:
- By January 1, 2023, finalists must supply a link to a digital copy of the score for judges use or supply three hard copies at the time of the competition.
- One three-member judging panel will judge all selected performers for the final phase of the competition. The performing order will be determined by a random draw.
- The panel will hear each performance in its entirety without stopping.
- Performances running longer than 25 minutes will be stopped at the maximum time unless an exemption has been requested in advance.

Science and Health in Artistic Performance (SHAPe) Program - There is currently a national search underway to fill the faculty position leading the shape clinic. It is expected that process will take approximately two months to complete, and during that time, the office in Putnam will be closed. In the meantime, the options for care are as follows.
Athletic Training is available in Grover Center E193 M-F 2:00-4:30pm
Counseling and Phycological services is available in Hudson Health Center 3rd Floor.
