Joey Behrens grew up in the suburbs around Cleveland, Ohio. After spending her teenage years photographing the city she moved west, to Salt Lake City, Utah. Where she earned her BFA in painting and drawing from the University of Utah and was introduced to printmaking. A medium she pursued through her involvement with Salt Grass printmakers, a nonprofit co-op. Joey’s work deals with issues of community and the dialectic of our relationship with the environments we build. Her work has shown nationally and internationally and is included in the Salt Lake County Art Collection. She is currently working towards her MFA in printmaking at Ohio University.
