Since 1991, the Affrilachian Poets have been exploring what it means to be a person of color in Appalachia. With stories focused around folklore, music, definition of home, and community impact, this evening of spoken word celebrates and shares the narratives of this region from a historically marginalized demographic.
Super Night Shot
Gob Squad
E. E. Baker Theater, Kantner Hall
Friday, August 23 • 9:00 PM
Saturday, August 24 • 9:00 PM
Berlin-based Gob Squad presents their landmark production, Super Night Shot. With nearly 200 international presentations since the project’s inception in 2003, the artists in this theatrical performance create a one-of-a-kind film on the streets of Athens an hour before curtain. As our heroes will “embark on a set of comic and fantastical adventures that celebrate unexpected encounters with strangers” we gain reflections into community and our everyday interactions with others.
*All performances take place in Athens on campus at Ohio University.
