Wendy Blackwood
Director, Athens Community Music School, Summer Programs Director
Wendy Blackwood has been teaching piano at the Athens Community Music School since 2006 and was appointed Director in May 2018. In addition to teaching, Wendy collaborates with students and faculty in the Ohio University Schools of Music and Theater and has been a featured pianist for many regional choral, band, and orchestral groups. She is active in both the Music Teachers National Association and the National Association of Teachers of Singing where she was honored to be chosen as a collaborative pianist in the prestigious NATS Intern Program in June 2018. She also serves as Coordinator for the Chaddock + Morrow College of Fine Arts Summer Arts Programs. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education and Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from Bob Jones University. Wendy, her husband Nathan, and two children, Lorelai and Isaac, enjoy hiking, reading, and being a part of the vibrant arts community in southeast Ohio.
