Julia White
M.A. Art History
I was raised in Dayton, Ohio and only recently received my BA in Art History from Ohio University in the Spring of 2020.
I am currently pursuing a Master’s in Art History in the concentration of contemporary visual culture. My research centers around the application of post-modernist philosophy to contemporary digital images and social media. I am particularly interested in social media as art, and its coded visual language.
I am also interested in physical visual culture, particularly objects from the home and domestic experiences. While I love the art for art’s sake made by self-determined, capital A “Artists”, my interest in art history is more focused on the study and agency of objects – both digital and physical – which exist as a result of contemporary culture.
