Filmmaker, William Loftus was born February 11, 2003 in Los Angeles, California, the son of Michael Loftus, a Stand-up Comic, Writer and Producer for television, and Pamela Patterson, an Executive Assistant. He had a comfortable, middle-class upbringing where every Saturday night was movie night; which is what sparked his love of movies and his interest in filmmaking. At Providence High School, Wil was accepted into the Cinema Arts Focus Program where he studied all aspects of cinema. He was a Junior Camp Counselor, then, when Covid restrictions affected the local church, he helped to create and facilitate a streaming service for the church to broadcast weekly services. After graduation, Wil and his family left California and relocated to Columbus, Ohio. As he navigates his pursuit of a Fine Arts Degree from Ohio University, Wil’s goal as a student is to continue to enhance his knowledge of cinema arts and his skills so that he will have a career making films that harken back to classic American Cinema with his own modern take in the medium.
