Summer Housing Information

Ohio University students attending classes for the summer will be housed in Jefferson Hall on East Green.

Learn more about living on campus during summer, including important dates, cancellation and charge reduction information, summer room and board charges, and available options for services such as dining, mail, transportation and parking.

Note: The information on this page is for the 2025-2026 academic year. Updated information for the following year will be available in 2027.

Charges, Cancellation & Charge Reduction Information

Charge reductions are made only for students who withdraw from Ohio University or do not attend Ohio University for the summer term.

  • Prior to Hall Opening - 100%
  • Through 1st Week - 60%
  • Through 2nd Week - 40%
  • Through 3rd Week - No charge reduction

All cancellations must be submitted in writing via e-mail (housing@ohio.edu) to the Housing and Residence Life Office.

Students paying for both summer sessions will receive a full charge reduction for the second summer session if cancellation is received by the Housing and Residence Life Office in writing prior to the last business day before the second summer semester classes begin.

Food Service and Options

The summer dining hall will be Nelson Court. Meal plans start and end dates will depend on the sessions students are attending and hold an associated meal plan for.

  • First day of a meal plan for summer session 1 is dinner on Sunday, May 10
  • Last day of a meal plan for summer session 1 is dinner Friday, June 26
  • First day of a meal plan for summer session 2 is dinner Sunday, June 28
  • Last day of a meal plan for summer session 2 is dinner Friday, August 14

Please note that Nelson Court will be closed due to a steam outage from May 10 through May 23; during this period, meals will be available at The Hungry Cat Food Truck located at the top of Morton Hill from May 10 through May 22, with the exception of May 17. Both The Hungry Cat and Nelson Court will be closed on May 23, May 24, and May 25, and Nelson Court will reopen on May 26.

    Please time such shipments so that they correspond with your arrival and time on campus. Items will be shipped to the summer hall’s green mail center.

  • Transportation and Parking

    A valid parking permit is required if parking on campus during the summer. Permits will be available beginning Monday, April 13 at 9 a.m. for summer residential students. Residential permits are required for overnight parking and must be purchased through the Parking Portal. Email Transportation & Parking Services or call 740.593.1917 with any questions or concerns.
