All Ohio University residence halls will officially close on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 8:00 p.m. Find your Closing Checklist here. Students must vacate their residence hall within 24 hours of their last exam or by 8:00 p.m. Friday, whichever comes first. All students must properly checkout through a Housing and Residence Life staff member.
Fees: Beginning at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 29, 2016 a fee of $25 per hour and every hour after will be imposed to students who do not vacate the residence halls on time. A $50 minimum fee is charged to students who do not complete the checkout process properly.
24-hour quiet hours are Friday, April 22, 2016 at 5:00pm through Friday, April 29, 2016 at 8:00pm. Final exams create higher anxiety levels, so study hard and be considerate of your neighbors. Violations of quiet hours may result in conduct referral and residents may be asked to checkout immediately.
Rooms must be clean prior to departure. (Brooms, dust pans, and wet mops are available.) Trash must be removed and taken to the dumpster outside of the building. Remove all food items from the microwave and refrigerator units; defrost the units and clean the microwave and fridge. Wipe down surfaces inside and out. Unplug and leave doors open. The cord should be put over the front of the refrigerator.
The last delivery day for mail is Friday, April 29, 2016. To avoid getting delays in receiving packages, please do not have items shipped during finals week. Postal mail received after hall closing will be forwarded to the students permanent address on record. If you are leaving the University and will need your mail forwarded to a different address, fill out a change of address form at the Post Office located in Baker Center, or contact the sender directly.
