All Ohio University residence halls will officially close on Friday, May 3, 2019 at 8:00PM. Students must vacate their residence hall within 24 hours of their last exam or by 8:00PM on Friday, whichever comes first. All students must properly checkout through a Housing and Residence Life staff member.
Need a one night extension?
Students needing to stay beyond 8:00PM on Friday, May 3, 2019 can request a one night extension through their Housing Self-Service. Students who request the one night extension will need to check out no later than 6:00PM on Saturday, May 4, 2019. Request must be submitted no later than 3:00PM on Friday, May 3, 2019 to avoid additional costs.
Fees: A $100 minimum fee is charged to students who do not complete the checkout process properly.
Students needing to remain on campus for any portion of May break can elect to stay in temporary housing during May break. Temporary housing is available from Saturday, May 4 through Friday, May 10 at 10:00PM, which point the first summer session housing contract will be in effect.
The online application for temporary housing reservations is opened April 1 through May 9, at 9:00AM a reservation is required. To make a reservation, visit your Housing Self-Service, click on the ‘Applications’ tab, and select “Temporary Housing Contract” application. The cost for break housing is $30/night, or $125/week and will be charged directly to the student's account.
24-hour quiet hours are Friday, April 26, 2019 at 5:00PM through Friday, May 3, 2019 at 8:00PM. Final exams create higher anxiety levels, so study hard and be considerate of your neighbors. Violations of quiet hours may result in conduct referral and residents may be asked to checkout immediately.
Rooms must be clean prior to departure. Trash must be removed and taken to the dumpster outside of the building. Remove all food items from the microwave and refrigerator units; defrost the units and clean the microwave and fridge. Wipe down surfaces inside and out. Unplug and leave doors open. The cord should be put over the front of the refrigerator.
The last delivery day for mail is Friday, April 26th, 2019. Mail and packages delivered via USPS will be forwarded to your home address during summer break (If you have a valid forwarding address with the university) unless you had a package delivered via UPS, FedEX or DHL. Any packages received from this delivery provider will be sent back to sender. Please take this into consideration when having packages sent to your on campus address. We encourage the last day for package delivery to stop on Wednesday, April 24th, 2019. If you are leaving the University and will need your mail forwarded to a different address, fill out a change of address form at the Post Office located in Baker Center, or contact the sender directly.

All residence halls will be collecting nonperishable food items for local food pantries at the end of the semester. Look for bins on the ground floor of your residence hall or see your RA for more details.

Storage is offered at off campus storage companies. No University affiliate storage is available.
