OHIO Bobcat Insights (OBI)

What is OHIO Bobcat Insights?

OHIO Bobcat Insights (OBI) is a web-based reporting system used to support the campus community’s academic and administrative offices. By default, all university faculty and staff have access to the Finance Dashboard Pages and the Employee Lookup Dashboard.

Requesting Access to OHIO Bobcat Insights

Finance Dashboard

The OBI finance dashboard contains the following dashboard pages: 

  • Lookups
  • General Ledger
  • Grants
  • Purchasing
  • Equipment Inventory

By default, all University faculty and staff have access to the finance dashboard.  Access requests for graduate and undergraduate student employees must be approved by your planning unit’s CFAO and should be sent to ServiceDesk@ohio.edu.

The finance dashboards contain drilldowns to payroll detail that is restricted to authorized users only.  See HR/Payroll Access Roles section below for additional information about this access. 

Human Resources Dashboard

The Human Resources Dashboard contains the following dashboard pages:

  • Employee Lookup
  • Absence Management
  • Appointment Information and Costing
  • Base Salary Listing
  • Payroll Detail
  • Payroll Forecasting
  • Reports Catalog

By default, all University faculty and staff have access to the Employee Lookup dashboard page.  The remaining HR dashboard pages are restricted to authorized users only.  See HR/Payroll Access Roles section below for additional information about this access.

FAA_HR_DBRD_USERS

For users who require access to the HR dashboards.  Also, this access allows users to drill down to the payroll detail from the finance dashboards.

Planning unit’s CFAO approval required, send request to ServiceDesk@ohio.edu

HR_PEDS_ALL

For users who require access to the payroll drilldowns from the finance dashboard, but do not require full HR dashboard access.

Planning unit’s CFAO approval required, send request to ServiceDesk@ohio.edu

HR_PEDS_PTA

For project/award key members who require access to the payroll drilldowns for their assigned projects/awards only.

Report Requests

The Financial and Administrative Systems Team (FAST) cannot provide access to data, change, or create reports without the explicit approval of the office responsible for maintaining the source of the data.

  • If you need Finance data that is not currently available in the finance dashboards, please contact financecustomercare@ohio.edu. 
  • If you need HR data that is not currently available in the HR reports catalog or dashboard, please contact the appropriate HR office or UHR@ohio.edu.
