How to access Retirement@Work and Start a Plan or Change Contributions

Log in to Retirement@Work using your OHIO ID and password.

The Quick Start Guide can help you get started or watch this video for a step-by-step guide to using Retirement@Work.

Current 403(b), 457(b), and ARP participants will start at the "Balances" tab where you can view the balances for your current plans. Select the "Contributions" tab to change your 403(b) or 457(b) contributions or to change your retirement plan provider.

First time users should select "Set Up Contributions" to start a plan, enter the amount you would like to contribute to your 403(B) or 457(b) plan and select your preferred retirement plan provider. You will then be directed to your retirement plan providers web site to establish an account and select investment options.

New plan features

New Roth option

  • You can choose to make 403(b) and 457(b) contributions with after-tax dollars. These contributions and any earnings will be tax free at withdrawal if certain conditions are met. We encourage you to meet with your retirement plan contact to review Roth options.
  • To start or change to Roth contributions, log in to Retirement@Work and navigate to the "Contributions" tab. From there you can start new Roth contributions.

Self-directed automatic increase

  • Help build your savings faster. You can choose when you would like to automatically increase your contributions, the rate of the increase (percentage), and when you would like to start and stop the automatic increase.

What's not changing?

You now have access to all your account information in one location. The following won’t change:

  • The current contribution amount from your paycheck each pay period
  • Your investment choices
  • Your beneficiary designation(s)
  • The required ARP contribution formulas and schedules
  • You can still access your account information directly on your retirement plan provider web site (Equitable, Corebridge, TIAA, Voya.)
  • STRS, OPERS, and Ohio Deferred Comp (ODC) participants should continue to contact STRS, OPERS, and ODC directly regarding their retirement plans and options.
