Compensation
The Compensation area of the Office of Human Resources promotes strategies that maximize recruitment, performance, and retention of quality employees in support of Ohio University's mission and goals. Through its programs and practices, the Compensation area strives to achieve the following:

The Compensation area of the Office of Human Resources provides position analysis and evaluation, consultation regarding classifications, position descriptions, pay adjustments, and employee recognition assistance.
Pay Administration Guidelines
The Pay Administration Guidelines ensure that pay decisions align with the compensation program design and are applied consistently across the University. Ohio University is committed to equal opportunity in all aspects of employment and values diversity in its workforce.

Payroll Services
The Payroll Department processes bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls for all Ohio University campuses, including students, faculty, and staff. Responsibilities include international processing through Glacier, retirement system reporting, payroll account corrections, workforce system administration, taxable benefit processing, and preparing and mailing W-2 forms.
Pay Structures
Ohio University’s pay structures are designed to support competitive, equitable, and transparent compensation. Pay structures include:

- Guidelines for pay adjustments and promotions
- Position evaluation and market benchmarking
Detailed pay structures are maintained for each employment type, including AFSCME 1699, AFSCME 3200, Administrative and Professional, FOP, as well as general Salary Guidelines and Pay Administration Guidelines. These resources provide clear, comprehensive information on pay ranges, classifications, and policies to ensure consistent and fair compensation practices across the University.
Payroll Schedules
Payroll Schedules provide information about when employees are paid throughout the year. Ohio University maintains schedules for both monthly and biweekly employees, including:
- Pay dates for each fiscal year
- Deadlines for submitting timesheets and payroll-related forms
- Information on interim or special payroll runs
