Preferred Supplier Spotlight: Fastenal

Once again, Procurement is spotlighting one of the University-wide preferred suppliers in this month’s edition, Fastenal. For a complete list of university preferred suppliers, please see our preferred suppliers webpage. As a reminder, preferred supplier contracts were established by competitive means and therefore can be utilized at any spend level without the need for a competitive event, making the procurement process quick and easy.

Fastenal is an industry leader supplying maintenance, repair, and operational (MRO) needs, equipment, tools, fasteners, and industrial and janitorial supplies. They’re a U.S. company headquartered in Winona, MN. Fastenal offers over 3,000 in-market locations (distribution centers, warehouses, etc.), with a local service center in Jackson, Ohio (425 McCarty Ln, Jackson, OH 45640) to service the Athens campus. The University utilizes the OMNIA Partners consortium contract with Fastenal, with a renewal term expiring June 30, 2024, and with an additional one-year renewal option, which could extend the contract to December 31, 2025. This contract features:

• Net30 days payment terms,
• No minimum order quantities (outside of package sizes),
• Discounts across Fastenal’s entire catalog, and
• Shipping charges included in the purchase price (no additional charge). Shipping lead times are SKU specific and are listed on the punchout within Jaggaer. Additional shipping charge exceptions may apply with special handling requirements, hazmat items, freight items and expedited shipping requests.

Fastenal also honors returns on this contract. Returns for Fastenal products must be made within 30 days of the purchase date, unless otherwise indicated, if the items are in original packaging, unused, undamaged, and in saleable condition. Please be aware, closing your purchase order in BobcatBUY does not guarantee cancellation of your order, so please be sure to reach out to Meg for all order changes too.

Procurement has established a punchout catalog within BobcatBUY with Fastenal. You can access the catalog in BobcatBUY system by clicking on the FASTENAL icon from the home screen.
