JET: Multiple Periods will be Open

As you are working to complete your year-end closing tasks, please be aware multiple periods will be open in JET from the end of June to the end of July. June 2023-23 & July 2023-24 will both be open periods in JET. Please be very careful when staging journal entries to choose the correct GL Period.

Remember, for Project Task Award (PTA) transactions, the Grants Module will post the transaction to the earliest open period relative to the transaction’s Grants Expenditure Item Date. Therefore, a single journal should never cross fiscal years or GL periods. Review the examples below for determination of the correct Expenditure Item Date for any PTA journal lines:

• If you chose the June 2023-23 GL Period, you must use a June Expenditure Item Dates, or prior, on your journal line so that the transaction will be posted in June.
• If you choose the July 2023-24 GL Period, you must use a July Expenditure Item Date on your journal line so the transaction will be posted in July.
