Calculating Personal Mileage for Reimbursement

Finance Customer Care regularly receives questions about how to calculate mileage reimbursement for employees working remotely. Human Resources has provided guidance on how to calculate mileage when working from another location besides your primary campus address (ex., like your home address) that complies with the University’s accountable plan for mileage reimbursement. The accountable plan allows the University to reimburse mileage for business use of personal vehicles without that counting as taxable income to the employee.
