New supplier available for document destruction

The Purchasing Department is pleased to announce Ohio University has finalized the contract with Shred-It USA LLC for confidential document destruction services. Business can now officially begin. This new contract will replace the service previously provided by Information Destruction Services (IDS). Shred-It purchased IDS effective March 30, 2018. The purchase included all IDS equipment and bins. With the execution of this new contract, Shred-It will be OHIO’s Preferred Supplier for all confidential destruction needs for the Athens campus and for regional campuses.

Shred-It Process for New and Existing Accounts provides the guidelines for requesting containers and scheduling pick-up service for new or existing accounts. Each individual location is a “ship to” location under the Master Service agreement (Contract # 18‐0810RD03), and that agreement should be referenced on all POs and documentation. Purchase orders will now be required PRIOR to setting up any service. Use the Shred‐It Container Request Form to request service. The completed form should be used as documentation for your service agreement requisition in BobcatBUY

With the master service agreement in place, there should be no need to sign any paperwork to set up a new account. The only signature allowed in this process is the acknowledgement that your documents have been picked up for destruction. The certificate of destruction will be sent to the primary contact for the ship-to location.
