Early Reminder - FY27 Balances Displayed on OBI Dashboards Until FY26 Close

While the start of FY27 is still several weeks away, we want to provide an early reminder about how account balances will appear in OBI during the fiscal year transition. Sharing this information in advance helps users understand what to expect when reviewing balances at the beginning of the new fiscal year. We will revisit this topic in the July edition and provide additional reminders as FY27 begins.

As we approach yearend, please remember that both FY26 and FY27 are open for close. So, as we begin FY27, please be aware that account balances displayed in OBI reports and dashboards are preliminary and will not reflect complete FY27 beginning balances until FY26 has been finalized and closed.

FY26 must be completed before year-end balances can be rolled forward and loaded as the beginning balances for FY27. As a result, users reviewing FY27 activity during the summer should expect balances to change once the FY26 close process is complete.

Beginning July 1, a notice will be posted on the OBI GL Funds Available and Student Funds Available dashboards to inform users of account balance limitations.

When reviewing FY27 results for unrestricted, designated, student organization, and gift funds, please note that FY26 activity will not be rolled forward until the evening of August 11, 2026, after June activity is finalized.

During this period:

• Traditional View: The YTD Actuals column reflects only the FY26 beginning balance plus FY27 activity; it does not include FY26 activity.
• Revenue/Expense View: The Beginning Balance column shows only the FY26 beginning balance; it does not include FY26 activity.

Updated FY27 beginning balances will be available in OBI on August 12.
