On-Campus Guest Housing
OHIO is pleased to offer convenient, affordable on-campus guest housing during select specialty weekends throughout the academic year.
Stay just steps from your student’s residence hall and campus events while avoiding the high hotel rates often associated with OHIO’s most popular weekends. As local hotels fill up, on campus guest housing provides families with a comfortable, convenient option during high-demand periods.
Guest Accommodations
Dougan House and True House offer comfortable residence hall accommodations in the heart of campus, providing guests with a convenient and welcoming place to stay while visiting Ohio University. Guests can enjoy being just steps from campus activities, special events, and their student’s residence hall while experiencing the unique atmosphere of campus living.
Guest accommodations are available in Dougan House and True House for $125 per single room, per night, or $185 per double room, per night. Both options require a two-night reservation. Double rooms are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Refund Reminder: Please contact Conference Services at conferences@ohio.edu to cancel any reservations. Please note that the last day to request a refund for any event or housing accommodation is the Monday, two weeks prior to booking at 12 p.m. Please see the table above for specific dates. After the outlined dates, we are unable to process a refund.
Room Details & Amenities
Dougan House and True House offer comfortable residence hall accommodations designed to provide guests with a simple, convenient, and welcoming stay. These halls feature a traditional residence hall layout with private guest rooms, essential furnishings, and shared community-style amenities that create an authentic OHIO campus experience. Guests can enjoy a comfortable place to relax and recharge while visiting campus.
Guest Room and Bathroom Details
Hallways are designated by gender and feature shared, community-style bathrooms. Each bathroom is shared by approximately 3–5 guests and includes a shower, toilet, and sink. Guest rooms are furnished with the essentials needed for a comfortable stay and include:
- Twin XL bed
- Desk and chair
- Drawer unit
- Micro-fridge
- Closet space
- Air conditioning
A single room has one bed and a double room has two beds. Please note that spaces are designated either a single or double person occupancy. Due to this, we recommend that any additional guests beyond the designated room occupancy book additional spaces.
Provided Linens
Each registered guest will receive a linen set upon arrival, which includes:
- Pillow and pillowcase
- Fitted sheet
- Flat sheet
- Blanket
- Bath towel
- Washcloth
At the end of your stay, linens may simply be left in the room for our staff to collect.
Please note that personal convenience items, such as hangers, irons, steamers, hand soap, and other similar items, are not provided. Guests are encouraged to bring any additional items they may need to make their stay more comfortable.
Preparing for Your Stay
Planning your visit to OHIO is easy with helpful information about arrival, departure, parking, dining options, and what to bring. Review the details below to help ensure a smooth and comfortable guest housing experience from check-in to check-out.
Before You Arrive
To help make your stay as comfortable as possible, we recommend bringing the following items:
- Toiletries, hand soap, a shower caddy, and shower shoes
- Clothing hangers
- An iron or steamer (if desired)
- Extra blankets, pillows, and towels (if desired)
- Any additional personal items that will help make your stay more comfortable
Check In and Out
Check-In
Check-in is available Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Upon arrival, guests should report to the ground floor of their assigned residence hall, where staff will provide:
- Room key
- Building access card
- Meal cards (if purchased)
If you anticipate arriving after the scheduled check-in window, please contact the Guest Services Ambassador on Duty at least 15 minutes prior to your arrival to make arrangements. The contact number will be posted on all exterior building doors and included in the check-in instructions emailed to guests a few days before arrival.
Check-Out
Check-out is available Sunday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Before departing campus, guests must return their room key and building access card to the check-out station located on the ground floor of their residence hall.
Unreturned items will result in replacement charges:
- Room key: $100 charge for key replacement and core change
- Building access card: $10 replacement charge
Before checking out, guests should remove all personal belongings and dispose of any trash in the outdoor dumpster receptacles. Linens may be left in the room for collection by staff after departure.
If you need to depart before the scheduled check-out window, please contact the Guest Services Ambassador on Duty to make alternate arrangements. The contact number will be posted on all exterior building doors and included on the information flyer in your guest room.
Parking Information
Guests are encouraged to park in Lot 93, located adjacent to the Golf & Tennis Center and Ping Recreation Center.
For specialty weekend guest housing stays, a parking permit is not required for guests arriving after 5 p.m. on Friday and departing before 7 a.m. on Monday.

Dining Options
Guests may purchase meal vouchers during registration for $11 per meal. Meal cards will be distributed at check-in and may be used at participating Ohio University dining locations throughout the duration of your stay.

Policies & Procedures
All registered guests are expected to follow the policies and procedures outlined in the Ohio University Student Housing Handbook throughout their stay.
Guests are strongly encouraged to review the handbook prior to arrival. By staying in Ohio University guest housing, guests are responsible for understanding and following all applicable policies and procedures before and throughout their stay.
Supervision of Minors
In accordance with Ohio University Policy 3.010, parents, teachers, or legal guardians are responsible for providing appropriate supervision of minors while on university property, unless the minor is participating in a covered program. Parents, teachers, and legal guardians should not leave minors unsupervised on university property. Ohio University is not responsible for minors who are left unsupervised on university property.
