Concur Travel Booking System Update
Ohio University's Concur travel booking experience will be updated later this month as part of a change being made by Christopherson Business Travel (CBT), the university's travel management partner (TMC).
CBT is upgrading the Global Distribution System (GDS) that provides airfare, hotel, rental car, and rail content in Concur. The transition to the Sabre GDS system is intended to improve system stability, support better performance, and provide a clearer online booking experience for campus users.
When is the change happening?
The migration is scheduled for Friday, August 21, at 3:00 p.m. During the transition, Concur may be temporarily unavailable for a short period.
Will the online booking tool look different?
Yes. The updated Concur booking experience includes a more modern, streamlined interface intended to make common travel booking steps easier to navigate.
To help you get familiar with the new experience, Concur has provided the following resources:
- Video overview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vkZ55Zr75c
- Hotel booking guide (Hotel_HowtoPPT.pptx)
- Rental car booking guide (CarRental_HowtoPPT.pptx)
- Air travel booking guide (Air_HowToPPT.pptx)
The Finance Department will also share Ohio University-specific reference guides as we get closer to the go-live date.
What should you expect?
For many travelers, the transition may have little impact. However, there are a few important items to be aware of for trips booked before Friday, August 21:
- Existing future trips may not appear in Concur after the migration or may display an alert in the Trip Details section.
- Trips booked before the migration cannot be changed or canceled through Concur after the transition.
If you need to modify or cancel travel that was booked before Friday, August 21, please contact Christopherson Business Travel (CBT) directly:
- Email: ohio@cbtravel.com
- Phone: 866-266-8806
A CBT travel agent will assist you.
To support the transition, the Finance Department will also contact travelers whose existing reservations are affected.
Travel booked after the migration can be managed in Concur as usual.
What are the benefits?
This upgrade lays the foundation for a better travel booking experience by providing the look, feel, and function of more modern consumer travel websites and apps and offers:
- Improved system stability
- Better overall performance
- A clearer, more user-friendly Concur interface
We recognize that any system update requires adjustment, and our goal is to provide clear information and support so travelers and arrangers know what to expect before the change takes effect.
