Dr. Shaohua Wang
Dr. Wang’s lab research focuses on bacterial pathogens especially Clostridiodes difficile (C. difficile), with emphasizes on 1) pathogenic mechanistic studies via high throughput screening and genomic engineering tools; 2) microbiome studies and developing novel probiotic/prebiotic strategies to modulate gut microbiome and ameliorate host intestinal diseases; 3) discovery of new drugs (as antibiotics alternatives) and development of new systems to treat C. difficile infection and its recurrence. Moreover, she is also interested in extending therapeutic strategies to other emergency pathogens to improve human health.
