Riding Against Chagas

Riding Against Chagas

About the Project

A science communication initiative that combines the thrill of a motorcycle adventure with the urgency of shedding light on one of Latin America’s most neglected diseases: Chagas disease.

Over two documentary seasons available on YouTube under Jaguarundi Moto Adventure, Dr. Mario Grijalva travels through endemic regions facing challenging routes, mechanical breakdowns, and extreme weather while connecting with rural communities who live every day with the silent threat of this disease.

In each episode, majestic landscapes blend with profound human stories, local knowledge, and transformative encounters.

Season two explores the social, cultural, and economic drivers of Chagas transmission, demonstrating how localized scientific engagement promotes awareness, empathy, and action
