Summer Experiences

Shadowing is defined by the Heritage College as a non-academic experience that is not related to a curricular requirement. An enrolled Heritage College student in good standing may pursue a shadowing experience. The Heritage College requires that all shadowing experiences be documented.

Students who are interested in shadowing must complete the Shadowing Documentation Form. Students must submit documentation for each individual site where they have a shadowing experience. Additional documentation is not needed for multiple shadowing experiences at the same institution.

All students must also complete the Annual Shadowing Attestation on Salesforce. Students will be instructed by the Office of Clinical Education on the timeline for completing this form each year.

Leroy A. Rodgers, M.D., Preceptorship Program, OAFP Foundation

The Ohio Academy of Family Physicians Foundation and the Oho Association of Community Health Centers are pleased to sponsor the Leroy A. Rodgers, M.D., Preceptorship Program. This is a competitive program.

Through the preceptorship program, the OAFP and OACHC offer grant funding to the departments of family medicine at the state's medical schools for participating first- and second-year medical students' preceptorship rotation stipends. The goal is to support stipends for up to 10 students from each of Ohio’s seven medical schools.
