1-on-1 Consultation With Resource Person

You can meet with a resource person on an individual basis and receive specific help and advice on your teaching or an instructional issue.

 

 

 

 

You can request a consultation to discuss any of the following:

  • Topic and Procedural Analysis - identifying facts, concepts, principles, rules, procedures, reactive and interactive skills in a content you are assigned to teach.
  • Writing Learning Objectives - writing measurable learning objectives based on Blooms taxonomy.
  • Instructional Strategies - designing active learning strategies on how to teach abstract concepts, rules and procedures.
  • Assessments - developing formative and summative assessments, relative and absolute standards, and writing good test questions.
  • Simulation -
  • Immersive Learning -
  • Virtual Learning -
  • Team Based Learning - readiness assurance process, 4S framework (Significant Problems, Same Problem, Specific Choice and Simultaneous Report).
  • Technology for Teaching and Learning - best practices in technology integration.

Do I need to prepare anything for my consultation?

If you would like to discuss a piece of written teaching plan or a presentation, you must submit a copy of the plan/presentation at least two days before your consultation (the work does not need to be the finished/completed version, you can submit the work at any stage). Email a copy to HCOM-FacultyLearning@ohio.edu.

How can I schedule a consultation?

To schedule a consultation you will need to submit a request. If for any reason you need to cancel your consultation, you must email HCOM-FacultyLearning@ohio.edu 48 hours before the consultation.

Where do consultations take place?

Online and face-to-face consultations are available.

How Am I Teaching?

If you would like to receive feedback on a particular area, pedagogy or course evaluation, make an initial consultation with OFLDS. Then a resource person will observe your teaching and will debrief and provide recommendations to modify your teaching. Contact Us!
