OHIO Green Building Standards Scoring

During schematic design, a consultation must occur with the Director of Energy Management and the Director of Sustainability to determine which criteria apply for the project. For additional information, refer to OHIO Design and Construction Standards and OHIO Sustainability and Climate Action Plan

All projects must comply with the Green Building Standards by meeting or exceeding all criteria required for the project type, as determined in the consultation. Any requests to waive any required criteria must be handled through the variance process. Only requests that are the result of an extenuating circumstance may be considered for a variance.

Exceeding Green Building Standards is defined by meeting at least 66% of the “exceeding” for required criteria for project type.
