Who can utilize CTRU services and equipment?

The CTRU is a fee-based unit that provides human subjects research support to all faculty and staff at Ohio University. We can partner with external industry, healthcare, and academic institutions to support projects.

What services does the CTRU offer?

You can find a list of services the CTRU offers here (link). If you need a service that is not listed, please contact us to determine if the service can be provided.

Do I need funding to use CTRU services?

CTRU services and equipment are fee-based and may be supported by funding through start-up faculty funds, internal awards, industry, federal, foundation, or other awards. Contact the CTRU early in your proposal development to receive approval to include CTRU services or equipment in your budget.

What information is needed for the CTRU to provide a budget for my project?

Budgets provided by the CTRU are estimates. In order to provide an accurate budget for your project, the CTRU will need as much detail about your project as soon as possible, including what services you are requesting, the number of participants you intend to recruit, study visit details, etc.

My study needs community partners to recruit participants, letters of support, or research agreements. Does the CTRU help with these activities?

Yes, the CTRU can help engage you with community partners for recruitment of subjects or assist with obtaining letters of support for proposals and/or IRB submissions. The CTRU can also assist with the process of obtaining research agreements for data use, facility use, clinical trial agreements, etc. To partner with external institutions for your projects.

Can the CTRU help with payments for subjects participating in my project?

The CTRU can assist researchers with human subjects’ reimbursement for study visits or other research activities. Compensation (e.g., cash , gift cards, egift cards, Mturk) will be charged to your project account number. Complete a Request for Services (link) to schedule a consultation.
