How To Find the Clinical & Translational Research Unit

Take US-33 E to Exit 17, OH-682 N in Athens. (Do not take the exit for “The Plains.”)

There is a traffic circle ("roundabout") at the end of the off-ramp. Traffic entering the circle must yield to traffic already in the circle.

Keep to the right as you approach the traffic circle. Take the first exit (right) onto Richland Avenue.

Continue past the Convocation Center on your left.

Take the next left onto West Green Drive.

Take the first right to enter the parking area.

Go down a small hill and curve to the left.

Proceed through the parking lot to the 8 parking spots on your left that read:

Community Clinic & CTRU Parking Only Parking by Permit or Permission Only.

Take US-33 E. US-33 E will join with US-50W in Athens.

Take Exit, 17, for OH-682N

After US-33 E joins US-50 W in Athens, take Exit 17, for OH-682 N

Take US-50 E toward Athens. US-33 W will merge into US-50 E

Take Exit 17, for OH-682 N.

Continue past the Convocation Center on your left.

Take the next left onto West Green Drive.

Take the first right to enter the parking area.

Go down a small hill and curve to the left.

Proceed through the parking lot to the 8 parking spots on your left that read:

Community Clinic & CTRU Parking Only. Parking by Permit or Permission Only.

After you have parked, head toward Parks Hall, which will be on your right as you are in the parking spot.

You will need to turn right so that Stocker Hall is on your left, along with 4 metered spots.

Continue straight ahead (do not take stairs)

Enter into Irvine Hall’s basement, on your right.

NOTE: There will be a CTRU sign with arrows that leads you down the hallway 

Follow the hallway all the way down until you reach the elevators on your right

NOTE: You will pass a set of elevators on your left after entering Irvine Hall, do not take that elevator.

Once you reach the elevators, go to the 2nd floor.

NOTE: There will a sign that says “CTRU Take elevators to second floor”

Once off the elevators, you have received our lobby.

NOTE: There is a Check-In Sign above phone to call CTRU.

Check-in using phone on wall to alert a CTRU staff member of your arrival.

Getting to the CTRU involves a few twists and turns, but if you follow these visual directions it should take only a few minutes. 

From Richland Avenue, turn in at the CTRU sign.

As you drive straight back you will see Grosvenor Hall. Take the right turn in front of Grosvenor. 

Go forward and almost immediately you will see to your left the entrance to a long, narrow parking area, which contains designated spaces in which you can park.

As you drive through the parking lot, you'll go beneath two underpasses. 

You see Heritage Clinic on your left. Park here and continue on foot, or keep driving (there's another parking space farther on.)

Either way, continue the direction you were going. As you proceed a short distance (100-150 feet) this way, you'll see two small parking lots on the right. Proceed to the second parking lot: Lot 115.

Toward the back of lot 115, and you will see three small white pillars. Head toward them. (There is also one space in this lot for use by CTRU visitors - it's next to the handicapped spot).

Continue straight past the three pillars, toward the brick arch.

Go under the arch, passing the stone steps and bike racks. 

Keep on this way until you come to another trio of small white pillars. Just past them to the right is an entrance to Irvine hall. Come into Irvine. CTRU is on the 2nd floor. 

Follow the signs and take the second elevator to the second floor.

Use the phone in the lobby to check in.
