CME for Preceptors

The Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine Office of Continuing Medical Education awards continuing medical education credit to physicians who teach our students.

D.O.s
The Area Health Education Center oversees the reporting of CME credit for D.O.s who are involved in teaching and those who serve as preceptors for year 1 through year 4 students of the Heritage College. The hours are reported quarterly to the American Osteopathic Association.

Preceptors for the Heritage College receive 40 hours of Category 1-B CME credit for each week of the rotation, divided equally among the preceptors.

Interns and residents
Interns and residents do not receive CME.

Students from other medical schools
CME credit for teaching students from schools other than the Heritage College is reported by their respective colleges.
