HCOM Faculty Officers

2026-2027

The Heritage College Faculty will be represented by 6 faculty officers. Each campus will be represented by one officer. The remaining three will be elected as at-large representatives from any of the campuses. To facilitate college representation that encompasses the  diversity of faculty, at least one of the six faculty officers will be a practicing physician and be a member of a clinical department, and at least one of the faculty officers will have a PhD degree.

The first year each officer is elected, they will serve as vice-chairs. In the second year of their terms, the vice-chair who received the highest percentage of support from the electorate eligible to vote for that officer when first elected shall serve as Faculty Chair, and the vice-chair who received the second-highest percentage shall serve as the Faculty Secretary. For each officer, the percentage of support shall be calculated by dividing the number of votes received by that officer by the total number of faculty members who were eligible to vote for that officer at the time of the election. For campus representatives, the denominator shall consist of the faculty eligible to vote for that campus representative. For at-large representatives, the denominator shall consist of all faculty eligible to vote for the at-large representatives. Faculty members who were eligible to vote but did not cast a vote for a particular officer shall remain included in the denominator. The number of officer positions elected by a campus shall not affect this calculation. Other officers will remain vice-chairs during their second terms.
