Summary: The Photographic Series consists of five sub series:  prints, photography exhibits, negatives, slides, and images on CD-ROM.   Over 10,000 photographs, 2000 negatives, 3 exhibits,

3000 slides, and 231 images on CD-ROM are included.  Choreographic works, portraits and company members are documented.  Dates range from the 1920’s – 1990’s.  Deposits to the Photographic Series were received in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2007. 

The prints sub series consists of over 10,500 photographs.  The majority of prints are black and white.  There are many duplicates.  Prints are arranged by artist and chronologically by the premiere date of the choreographic work. In addition to choreographic works, subjects include the Henry Street Playhouse, portraits, company members and teaching.  Dates range from the 1920’s through the 1990’s.

The photography exhibits sub series consists of prints from several photographic exhibitions.  Photographers include David Berlin, Max Waldman, Oleaga, and Robert Sosenko.  Prints are black & white and color. 

The negatives sub series includes 2814 negatives.  2000, 4 x 5 preservation negatives were produced by Ohio University Libraries from the photographs.  Over 800 negatives of various sizes were included with the collection. 

The slides sub series contains over 3000 color slides. They are arranged by artist and chronologically by premiere date of the choreographic work.  

20 CD-ROMs contain images of prints by Tom Caravaglia, photographs from the book, The Unique Gesture, and images of the Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company.
