Managing Links

Links are found in nearly all web pages. Links allow users to click their way from page to page. Links can be created from navigation menus, text phrases, images, or buttons. Links on our webpages can be styled in different ways to apply emphasis and clarity.

Most of our links will open in the same window to keep users in the same tab and prevent multiple tabs from opening. Some exceptions where you would want to open a link in a new window (to provide ease of use to the viewer) are:

  • opening or downloading a PDF
  • media platforms like YouTube, PhotoShelter, or the Calendar of University Events
  • Forms like Qualtrics or Drupal forms
  • non ohio.edu sites
