Athens Campus Simulation Area
The Clinical Training and Assessment Center (CTAC) Simulation Area is located in the basement of Grosvenor Hall on the West Green of Ohio University.
CTAC Simulation encompasses 2,500 square feet of space that includes an Emergency Room, Operating Room, 5 surgical scrub sinks, and 4 procedure rooms with 2 control rooms for digital recording of student performance. Each of the 6 simulation rooms contain cardiac monitoring, crash carts, simulated medications for emergency situations, IV transfusion pumps, and a centralized headwall with simulation suction, oxygen, and emergency call light. This area has 8 Laerdal ALS mannequins and 1 Laerdal 3G mannequin.
CTAC Simulation can be used for the following medical student skills:
- Intubation and airway management
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- Venipuncture
- Peripheral IV Access
- OR Orientation
- Male / Female urinary catheterization
- Heart, lung, and abdominal auscultation
- Blood pressure monitoring
- EKG monitoring
