Institutional Scholarships Application Instructions

The HCOM Financial Aid Institutional Scholarship Application is available for HCOM students to  submit between mid-February through mid-March of each year. The application is available to the students in the HCOM Student Portal.

Accessing the Student Portal and Logging In

You will use your OHIO email and password to log into the Student Portal.

Upon logging in, you'll land on a homepage. From here you can select  any of the Tools found on the right hand side of the page. Depending on what year student you are, different Tools and information may or may not be available. For more detailed information  on the Student Portal Tools, please see additional documentation in the Salesforce > HCOM Students folder of Knowledge Base.

Select the 'Institutional Scholarships' link under the Financial Aid Tools.

Create a New Scholarship Application

On the page that loads, select the "Click to Create a New Institutional Scholarship Application" button. If you've applied for Institutional Scholarships in the past, you see a list of those applications on this page.

Selecting Institutional Scholarships

At the top of the page, please provide where you completed your undergraduate degree (required). Additionally, some scholarships require your parental information - to apply for those scholarships complete the "Parent Financial Information" Section.

There will be 2 pages of scholarships you can select to apply for. Please be sure to read the criteria - you will need to provide further explanation on how you meet the necessary criteria. To apply for that scholarship, please check the box.

Some scholarships may also require an additional essay. Please upload your essay in the upload box provided.

Once you've selected the Institutional Scholarships you'd like to apply for on the first page, complete your Statement of Eligibility and select "Continue to Page 2".

Page 2 will load and your Parental Information and Eligibility Statement (if filled out) will already be populated - you can add to it as necessary. Once you're finished selecting the scholarships for wish you'd like to apply, click 'Submit'. You will be able to return to this application and make edits until the application deadline passes. Then, Financial Aid will review all applications and communicate  with you in the Fall of any awards received.
