The Student Government Association (SGA) at the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine serves as the elected voice of the student body, representing students in all matters involving faculty, administration, peers, and the broader community. The SGA is responsible for gathering and expressing student opinions on issues related to Heritage College and Ohio University. It promotes diversity and professionalism within the student community and works to increase awareness of osteopathic medicine by supporting activities aligned with national osteopathic initiatives. In addition, the SGA oversees student organizations within OUHCOM to ensure they operate effectively and support student needs.
Duties include presiding over SGA meetings and serving as the student representative to Heritage College administration at our campus and at national meetings on an alternating basis.
Duties include dividing responsibilities for the Organization Fair, President's Association, Constitution Review Committee Chair and serving as a voting member of the SGA.
Duties include maintaining SGA financial records, meeting minutes, agenda and schedule; coordinating SGA correspondence; and serving as a voting member of the SGA.
Duties include assisting Heritage College staff with coordinating volunteer opportunities for Year I and II students and maintaining and administering the TOUCH program.
Duties include coordinating student wellness programming and advocating for student wellbeing initiatives.
Duties include facilitating a well-rounded approach to diversity and inclusion at the Heritage College by serving as a liaison between SGA and SNMA as well as a voting member of the SGA.
Duties include serving as a voting member of the SGA and the Ohio University Graduate Student Senate and advocating for the Heritage College at the OHIO Graduate Senate.
