Residential Meal Plan Options

Culinary Services offers a variety of residential Meal Plans to suit students' schedules and needs. Meal Plans may be adjusted until the Wednesday prior to the first day of fall semester. At the start of fall semester, Meal Plans may only be increased. Please contact Housing & Residence Life with any Meal Plan purchasing issues. Look for our booth at any OHIO Resource Fair or contact us today with any specific meal plan questions; we're excited to help each student find an option that works best for them.

The Basics: Traditional vs. Flex

Culinary Services offers two categories of residential Meal Plans: Traditional and Flex.

About Traditional Meal Plans

Tradition Meal Plans allow you to spend your weekly meals at any residential Dining Court, Smooth Moves at Boyd Market or Shively Grab N Go. Meals are loaded onto your OHIO ID card on Sunday morning and expire on Saturday night each week. Our venues offer a total of 34 Meal Periods throughout the week in which to spend your meals. Traditional Meal Plans also offer a few extra guest meals per semester. Traditional Meal Plans may be selected in increments that will provide 14 or 20 meals per week.

About Flex Meal Plans

Flex Meal Plans offer all of the perks of the Traditional Meal Plans with three added bonuses to increase flexibility.

  1. Spend Your Meals at the Markets: Flex Meals may be spent at any Campus Market and have an equivalency of $6.50. Meals can be spent on a variety of items that will be useful on-the-go or to have on-hand in your residence hall, such as snacks, drinks, fresh fruit and vegetables, toiletries and more.
  2. Enjoy a Variety of Venues Using Flex Points: Flex Meal Plans include $225 Flex Points each semester. Flex Points offer immense flexibility as they can be spent at the majority of Culinary Services' venues, such as coffee shops, a food court and a restaurant located in Baker University Center, a food truck, a deli and more.
  3. Multiple Meals per Meal Period: More than one Meal may be spent during one Meal Period with a Flex Meal Plan. While Culinary Services offers 34 Meal Periods throughout the week to spend your meals, Flex Meal Plans give you the opportunity to double-up within a Meal Period or treat as many guests as you have meals.

Flex Meal Plans may be purchased in increments that will provide 14 or 20 meals per week.
