Several Features Added to Drupal Web CMS:

Anchor Link Now Work in FAQs

Anchor links are hyperlinks that take viewers to specific content within a page. This functionality has now been added to FAQ nodes. Here's how it works:

When an anchor link is added to a specific answer within an FAQ, links on other pages that reference the anchor automatically open the FAQ and scroll to the specified answer.

Card Links Updated

• Maximum is set at 9 cards, or three rows of three
• Links can now be set to open in new windows
• Background color options added
• When there are five cards, they display larger
• Card text area is now white and fonts have been updated into new OHIO brand standards

Website Feedback Form Added to Ohio.edu Footer

The ohio.edu footer now contains a link to a form for external website visitors that collects issues or feedback related to the website. UCM web specialists receive the form submissions, and they either correct the issue or alert a site manager so they can address it.

A link to the form has also been added to the "Aw Nuts!" (404 error) page that displays when a viewer is trying to reach a page the Drupal Web CMS can't locate.

 

Presidential transition web edits

The Ohio University Board of Trustees appointed Dr. Hugh Sherman as 22nd president of Ohio University for a two-year term effective June 14, 2021. UCM’s Web Team has located nodes referencing “Nellis” and will be making edits to some of these nodes, based on context, on Monday, June 14. Please contact us with any concerns about these edits, or if you notice any unaddressed references after June 14.

Voinovich School Name Change Will Require Web Updates

Effective July 1, 2021, the George V. Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs will be renamed the George V. Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Service.

This change comes after OHIO’s Board of Trustees approved the name in Oct. 2020. UCM’s Web Team has located nodes referencing “Affairs” and may be reaching out to individual editors to assist with updates.

Projects and content that are currently being developed or published in the weeks leading up to July 1 may use the new name to avoid excessive updates. Please email castoj@ohio.edu with questions about this site-wide update. 

Summer Training Sessions Available 

Summer is the perfect time to brush up on skills for managing your website and online calendar. UCM offers several options:

Calendar of University Events (CUE) Advanced Training for Groups and Group Officers 

This 30-minute training is for staff currently managing or seeking to manage "group" events in the CUE as a group officer.

This 90-minute, video-conferenced session is hands-on and will get you started on OHIO's web-management system. Topics include: system orientation; understanding content types; using text-editing toolbar; uploading images; embedding videos; best practices and where to find help.

This 60-minute, video-conferenced session is designed for page publishers. Topics vary, but generally include updating navigation menus; working with page revisions; and managing images (including hero images).
