2026 Homecoming Weekend Transportation & Parking Information

We would like to welcome all Bobcat family and friends planning to visit the Ohio University campus for Homecoming Weekend October 9-11, 2026. Please see below for information about parking and transportation accommodations available during your stay.

Available Parking

Beginning Friday, October 9, 2026 at 12PM all dark green and purple parking lots will be open and available for guest parking*. Dark green and purple parking areas will remain open until the end of the day Sunday, October 11, 2026. Please ensure vehicles are not parked within the grass, or other non-parking or restricted parking areas.

Individuals arriving to campus on Saturday, October 10, 2026 will be subject to game day parking fees and availability. Please follow signage and event staff to the next available parking location during this time. 

*Several parking areas will close for event parking during these times. Please review all lot signage prior to parking. A summary of campus parking lot closures can be found below. Please note that those parking in the below lots at the time of closure are subject to citation and vehicle relocation at the owners expense. 

Event Parking

On Saturday, October 9, 2026, several core campus parking lots will be converted into game day parking in support of the OHIO vs. Central Michigan home football game. Guest arriving and parking after 7AM on Saturday may be subject to game day parking fees. All game day parking locations will accept credit or debit card only for method of payment. The following lots will be converted to Donor Parking areas that require a specialized permit: Convocation Center Lots 127/128, Stocker Center Lot 111/112, Peden Stadium Lot 132, Walter Fieldhouse Lot 133 and Walter Hall Lot 134. The 2026 Homecoming Parade will begin on Saturday, October 10, 2026 @ 10AM starting on West Union Street. Ohio University hourly parking will be available, in addition to event parking locations. Athens City hourly parking is also available along select Athens City streets and the Athens City Parking Garage.

Transportation Options

CATS Late Night is a free service available Friday from 5:30PM-11PM and Saturday- Sunday from 6PM-11PM servicing campus locations. We encourage students/faculty/staff to schedule reservations in advance by downloading the TripShot App, or calling or texting 740-593-4040.

Athens Public Transit is available to many campus and Athens area locations with service hours Monday-Friday 7AM-8PM. Ride fares start at $1 and is free to students/faculty/staff by showing their OHIO ID. For a full listing of routes visit the Athens Public Transit website or call 740-592-2727.

Daily Campus Shuttles are available Monday-Friday from 7:30AM-5:30PM and services main campus buildings and parking locations. Download the TripShot app for live bus tracking.

Road Closures

A portion of South Green Drive between Richland Avenue and Oxbow Trail will be closed on Saturday, October 10, 2026, in support of the home OHIO Football game. The closure will take effect on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 7am and conclude 2 hours post-game on the same day to ensure the safety of participants at this event. Detour traffic should utilize Oxbow Trail and Bobcat Lane to navigate around the closure area.
