2024 Spring Move Out Transportation & Parking Information
Spring Semester close is quickly approaching. Please find below a review of supporting campus transportation & parking accommodations to aid in campus move out efforts Tuesday, April 30 -Friday, May 3, 2024.
Residence Hall Closing
All Residence Halls will officially close at 8PM on Friday, May 3, 2024. For more information regarding housing and the check out process please visit https://www.ohio.edu/housing/spring-semester-closing
Check Out Time Considerations:
- Graduate Commencement will take place on Friday, May 3, 2024, causing a change in regular parking from approximately 8AM to 2PM. It is recommended that students plan to check out outside of this time period for increased parking availability.
Arriving To Campus
When planning your arrival to campus please allow additional travel time due to increased traffic and nearby construction on West Union Street. As you approach campus please follow all detour and event signage to guide you to the next available parking location.
Campus Parking Accommodations
Several parking accommodations are available to students during the Move Out time period from Tuesday, April 30, to Friday, May 3, 2024. Based on your housing location please see available parking with proximity to your green.
Campus Wide & West Green
- Students may utilize campus dark green and purple lots in regular non-metered, non-restricted spaces for move out purposes.
- Please reference the parking visual provided which highlights authorized move out lots within close proximity to the Convocation Center. For a complete list of campus lots please reference: https://www.ohio.edu/transportation-parking/map
- Convocation Center Lots 127/128 will be reserved for ADA parking to support Graduate Commencement on Friday, May 3, 2024, between the hours of 8am-5pm. Those arriving to park during that time will be directed to the next available area by a TPS staff member.
Lot Closure Considerations: The Convocation Center Garage will close at 7AM on Monday, April 29, 2024 through Saturday, May 11, 2024, to accommodate cleaning, painting, and set up from Spring & OUHCOM commencement activities. Parking will be unavailable in this location during this time.
East Green
- Parking will be available along East Green Drive. Signage will be present designating 30 minute loading zones and restricted parking to allow for emergency vehicle passage.
South Green
- Lots 56-58 along South Green Drive will be available for 30 minute loading.
- Living Learning Center
- Morton Hall, Lot 90, Metered Spaces
- Ping Center, Lot 87, Metered Spaces
- Gamertsfelder Hall
Bromley Hall
- Students may utilize the parking lot located behind Bromley to load items prior to checking out.
- Vehicle loading time will be limited to 30 minutes to maximize usage of the parking area.
Campus Transportation Resources
Daily Campus Shuttles (CATS): Available Monday-Friday from 7:30AM- 5:30PM servicing dedicated areas and parking lots on campus. For additional information on service routes and times please visit our website.
Athens Public Transit (Bobcat Pass): Available to many campus and Athens area locations with service hours Monday - Friday 7:00AM-8:00PM. Ride fares start at $1, and students ride for free with their OHIO ID. For a full listing of routes visit the APT website or call 740-592-7272.
Evening/Late Night Shuttle Service: Free on-demand transit service for students, faculty/staff providing a safe and secure method of travel across campus, Monday- Friday 5:30PM-11PM and Saturday-Sunday from 6PM- 11PM. Download the TripShot app to schedule a ride at your convenience.
Accessible Transportation: Free accessible transportation for Faculty/Staff and students with mobility limitations. Contact the TPS Customer Care Center for more information.
