Reconnect with Residency Services

February 22, 2023

As revelers come together to mark St. Patrick's Day on March 17, fourth year medical students across the nation will be gathering for a celebratory milestone of their own: Match Day, the day when the National Resident Matching Program releases results to applicants seeking residency and fellowship training.

Since 2015, Blythe Jonas, Ph.D., has worked alongside colleagues in Residency Services to support Heritage College students through this complicated and often nerve-wracking process. Click below to hear Blythe's reflections on the residency match and what it means to our students.

Earlier this week, Blythe concluded her employment at the Heritage College in order to serve the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) as Outreach and Engagement Manager for the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). While she will be deeply missed at Ohio University, we are honored that one of our own has been chosen to help guide students through the residency match process at the national level.

Through the support and guidance of our dedicated Residency Services team, Heritage College students have achieved unprecedented match success in recent years. And I have every confidence that our Class of 2023 will continue this tradition of excellence at the 2023 NRMP Match next month.

Thank you for taking time to reconnect and learn about the match process and the impact of our Residency Services team. Please join me in congratulating Blythe, as she goes on to support the residency process in a new capacity at AAMC. Moreover, please join me in wishing all of our fourth year medical students the very best in the upcoming match!
