Student Organizations Dublin
Our Mission
The purpose of this organization is to provide a welcoming environment and support network for Latinx medical students. LMSA at OUHCOM is dedicated to educating students and faculty about health care issues and disparities prevalent in the Latinx communities. We strive to be dynamic and integral members of the greater Columbus area community, both educating and learning in a medical, and cultural capacity. This competency extends to teaching, learning, and practicing Spanish so that each member may be better equipped to serve and connect with the Latinx community.

Tentative Schedule for 2026-2027
We want to kick off the year by honoring, celebrating and sharing Hispanic Heritage Month. We will be having our third annual Dia De Los Muertos event to honor those who have passed and to embrace and share a common cultural tradition. We will be holding our info event for ClĂnica Latina. In the fall in conjuction with the family medicine club, we are planning to have a panel of Physicians from the Columbus area to share their experience in treating diabetes in the Latino community. Additionally, we are planning to hold a fundraiser in partnership with a Latino-owned restaurant to help raise funds for the club. In the spring, we plan to have our annual minority mixer with our sister organization, SNMA. We also want to host a panel of Spanish speaking patients to share their experiences as patients to help us become better physicians.
