Our Mission

The purpose of the OB/GYN Club is to provide osteopathic medical students with information about training and careers in OB/GYN, discuss women's health issues, and provide an atmosphere for students to interact with current physicians.

Services Provided

Promote the advancement of women into leadership roles in medicine. Support for female medical students, faculty, and alumni of OU-HCOM. Opportunity to connect with physicians and leaders within the local community Advocate for women's health issues. Serve community-wide initiatives.

Tentative Schedule for 2026-2027

Fall: 

  • IUD insertion workshop for students; hosted with representatives from BAYER 
  • Ultrasound practice lab 
  • Period products collection drive for local women's shelter (partnered with the DOTS organization): Touch hours for donations, donated to Laura’s home (women’s shelter) 
  • Partnering to volunteer at a women’s shelter such as Laura’s home, MedWish
  • Pre-Term Guest speaker to cover personal safety training as a health care worker 
  • Discussion on patients with developmental disabilities: How to provide education/advocacy/safety 
  • Host a dress down day to collect money for the women's shelter/MedWish 

Spring: 

  • Period products collection drive for local women's shelter (partnered with the DOTS organization): Touch hours for donations, donated to Laura’s home (women’s shelter) 
  • GYN/Breast exam practice 
  • OBGYN resident speaker: Residency acceptance statistics, what actions to take now
