Tentative Schedule for 2023-2024

Our organization aims to bring awareness to and advocate for women in the health care setting and beyond. We plan to provide service to supplement students learning activities through things such as partnering with CTAC to host a gynecological and breast examination practice lab and hopefully further utilizing our on campus ultrasound machines to better learn how to use them in our future practice. We plan to provide service to our community through activities such as partnering with and donating to a local women's shelter through period products drives.

   Fall

  • Talk with Dr. Sarah Rubin on maternal health and morality or on current abortion legislation and the impact on future patient care
  • Ultrasound practice lab
  • Partnering to volunteer at a women’s shelter such as Laura’s home
  • Guest speaker to cover personal safety training as a health care worker
  • Discussion on patients with developmental disabilities: How to provide education/advocacy/safety
  • Host a dress down day to collect money for the women's shelter

   Spring

  • Period products collection drive for local women's shelter (partnered with the DOTS organization): Touch hours for donations, donated to Laura’s home (women’s shelter)
  •  GYN/Breast exam practice
  • OBGYN resident speaker: Residency acceptance statistics, what actions to take now
  • IUD insertion workshop for students; hosted with representatives from BAYER
  • Escape Room event: partner with Western Reserve Hospital to host an Escape Room event where the "patients" needing treatment require students to use clinical skills they have learned provide each patient with proper care
