Standard 6.11
“All instruction at the affiliated or educational sites must be conducted under the supervision of COM academically credentialed or approved faculty.”
The Heritage College appoints faculty at all clinical campuses and affiliated teaching sites in accordance with established Ohio University and Heritage College Group IV Clinical Faculty Appointment/Reappointment Protocol. The protocol was revised in 2013-14 by a group of faculty and staff from multiple departments, clinical and academic campuses. The Heritage College meets this standard.
Individuals who demonstrate their willingness to teach and mentor Heritage College students may be considered for a Group IV Faculty appointment. Appointments are reviewed and approved by the respective Heritage College department. Further information, including a link to the clinical faculty roster, is available here.
The college has taken the step of allowing only faculty to be entered in the scheduling system (E*Value), thus preventing the accidental assignment of any non-faculty from primary responsibility for clinical instruction and evaluation.
Heritage College clinical education throughout the state is coordinated by a staff infrastructure including 11 Assistant Deans. The Assistant Deans and Heritage College students at clinical campuses are supported by Academic Program Administrators and Administrative Associates/Assistants who collaborate with hospital departments of medical education to provide outstanding and well-organized clinical rotations and didactic programs.
Affiliation or educational agreements are obtained by Heritage College to ally itself legally with all institutions where students participate in clinical rotations. The complete list of past and present affiliation agreements is available in the shared folders at:

Original agreements are maintained in the office of clinical education. The agreements are scheduled to be scanned and uploaded into E*Value in 2016-17. The college’s goal is to ensure that access to documentation is readily available at all Heritage College academic campuses. Heritage College enters agreements with all hospitals, clinics, colleges and other training sites for medical student rotations.
