Our Mission

Humanism in Medicine is a group of Heritage College students, as well as supportive and interested faculty and staff contributors, who work to promote the exploration of life and all of its beauty while working toward a greater level of compassion and understanding for all individuals. Our goal is to recognize the continuity of art and medicine in a literal sense by providing outlets for creativity and organizing events that benefit our Heritage College and local communities. Through the inspiration of art, literature and music, along with acts of kindness, we hope to celebrate ourselves and others for the qualities that make us uniquely human.

Services Provided

Humanism in Medicine provides opportunities for members of the Heritage College, Dublin, campus to embrace various forms of art and humanity throughout the year. We promote kindness and happiness by performing random acts of kindness each month on the Dublin campus and provide opportunities for future doctors to embrace creativity. We also plan, participate in and promote one charitable drive each year.

Tentative Schedule for 2021-2022

Each month, Humanism in Medicine will perform a random act of kindness (examples include passing out Valentine's cards and candy, thank you notes for members of the Heritage College community to write to each other and notes of encouragement). We also plan to organize a group artwork made by every member of Dublin's Heritage College community who wishes to participate, organize a talent show similar to that organized by the Athens Humanism in Medicine Club and provide the Heritage College, Dublin, community with resources and knowledge about art activities throughout the Columbus area. The group artwork and talent show will ideally take place in different semesters so that we have one large event per semester. We plan to finance these events with club dues, as well as an apparel fundraiser.
