The Student Association of the ACOFP is a community of current and future family physicians dedicated to advancing osteopathic principles. We empower our members through education, networking, and advocacy—always with a commitment to placing patients first.

Services Provided
SAACOFP fosters a community of current and future family physicians in the college. There will be opportunities for students to: - Learn more about family medicine as a specialty and the subspecialties that may follow - Participate in hands-on workshops to practice suturing, joint injections, and primary care ultrasound techniques - Connect with practicing family physicians for professional guidance, shadowing, and research opportunities. Through these initiatives, SAACOFP helps students build meaningful connections and gain valuable insights into the field of family medicine.
Tentative Schedule for 2026-2027
Fall:
- Welcome Event including introductions, meet and greet, and plans for the year
- Beyond Family Medicine Panel featuring practicing family physicians and residents who will share candid insights on pursuing competitive fellowships (like sports medicine or OB), navigating clinical autonomy in private practice
Spring:
- Annual Gala (in collaboration with SAAO) A formal evening event featuring prize raffles, an auction, dinner, and entertainment. Proceeds will support future student programming and initiatives.
- ACOFP National VIP Speaker Event: Attend an exclusive guest lecture featuring a prominent national leader in osteopathic family medicine.
- Procedures in Family Medicine: Hands-On Skills Lab: practice essential outpatient procedures like suturing, joint injections, splinting, and point-of-care ultrasound.
