Our Mission
The purpose of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Club is to educate and expose medical students to the field and practice of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and all related subspecialties. The objectives of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Club are for its members to acquire a better understanding of the skills, practices, and knowledge required to be a successful physiatrist; to gain valuable hands-on experience with procedures specific to PM&R; learn about the diverse multidisciplinary team required for successful rehabilitation. Additionally, the club is set to provide networking, professional development, and volunteer opportunities to students interested in pursuing physical medicine and rehabilitation as a future specialty.

Services Provided
The organization provides the community with outreach, fundraising, and volunteer events such as working with the Paralyzed Veterans of America, AOCPMR, and IronCore. The organization is present to help students gain exposure to working with those who have faced injuries or rehabilitation to ultimately grow as a future PMR physician.
Tentative Schedule for 2026-2027
Fall:
- Speaker event with a care team including physical therapists, nursing, and resident/attending PMR physicians to allow students to see the big picture in caring for patients and to better understand how the entire care team works together to help a patient.
- An ultrasound workshop to allow students to practice their ultrasound skills and learn how to find different elements on a scan including nerves, vessels, muscles, and bones.
Spring:
- Ironcore coaching to present students with the chance to coach adaptive sports over the course of a few months to an athlete with a specific goal in mind.
- Partnering with AADMD to volunteer in the community at Youth Challenge, Paralyzed Veterans of America, the VA, and other groups focusing on working with individuals with disabilities.
