Services Provided

The Medical Spanish Club provides services to the community, college, and osteopathic profession by helping future physicians develop the communication skills and cultural competency necessary to care for Spanish-speaking patient populations. The organization promotes community engagement through outreach efforts within the Greater Cleveland Latinx community and increases awareness of healthcare disparities affecting underserved populations. For students, the club offers additional educational opportunities outside the classroom through medical Spanish conversation practice, simulated patient experiences, guest speakers, and workshops on working with interpreters in clinical settings. These experiences help prepare students to provide more compassionate, culturally sensitive, and effective patient care as future osteopathic physicians. The organization also includes philanthropic and community-focused events, including fundraisers that support health organizations serving Latin American communities and outreach activities aimed at improving health awareness and access within the local Latinx population.
