Our Mission

As the educational and scientific national society for Lifestyle Medicine practitioners, ACLM must promote and cultivate a national community of dedicated trainee leaders, who strive to promote health, treat disease, and innovate the practice of healthcare. This organization, as an interest group of ACLM, will strive to raise awareness of lifestyle medicine and promote the adoption of healthy lifestyles in the members of the Ohio University campus, Cleveland community, and surrounding communities. This organization will do so through the implementation of a variety of fun, educational activities as chosen by the Lifestyle Medicine Club members.

Services Provided

We provide produce to the community from our lifestyle medicine garden. We incorporate the emphasis of mind, body and spirit along with holistic care by. teaching the importance of lifestyle medicine to the club members. We also volunteer at the gathering place to help teach cancer patients recipes and the value of nutrition in disease management.

Tentative Schedule for 2026-2027

Fall:

  • Intro meeting (use club funding to provide snacks) 
  • Garden meeting (show the garden location, how to water and harvest, free event)
  • Gathering place volunteering (once per month, free volunteering)
  • Recipe night (use club funds) encourage students to bring a sample of a healthy, budget friendly recipe to help contribute to a recipe book

Spring:

  • Garden cleanup day 
  • Lecture from dietitian 
  • Spring walk event, using the trails at south point hospital. Hold a walk that brings awareness to lifestyle medicine and have popsicles using club funds.
