Our Mission

It is the purpose of the Student Osteopathic Internal Medicine Association to represent aspiring osteopathic internists. This is accomplished through providing osteopathic medical students with an early exposure to the field of internal medicine, stressing the understanding of osteopathic principles in relationship to disease in the practice of internal medicine and its subspecialties and keeping members informed of the latest developments in the field of internal medicine.

Services Provided

SOIMA hosts a yearly dodgeball tournament, which acts as a fundraiser for the winner's chosen charity. Additionally, this club serves as a way for new first-year students and returning second-year students to find opportunities to volunteer in the community through events planned in the club.

Tentative Schedule for 2021-2022

  • Monthly meetings September through May shall be held at a site and time as determined by the Executive Committee. Members shall be encouraged to attend National ACOI meetings.   
  • Physician speakers: TBD   
  • Skill labs: intubation lab, IV lab, scrub-in lab, suture lab, ultrasound lab  

Financing through previous year's budget rollover and next year's member dues.
