Our Mission

SOIMA is an OU-HCOM organization dedicated to increasing knowledge and understanding of Internal Medicine and the many sub-specialties that fall under the IM umbrella. It also provides members access to The American College of Osteopathic Internists (ACOI), our parent organization, for professional development, mentoring, and continuing education opportunities. 

Dues: $5 Annually

Services Provided

SOIMA facilitates interconnectivity between OU-HCOM student organizations, as is the nature of Internal Medicine, through our clinical skills events. We also participate and encourage members to engage in the National D.O. Day of Service every spring by organizing a volunteering event. (Details for the 2024 D.O. Day of Service are forthcoming).

   2023 Fall Semester:

•    SOIMA Informational Meeting and Introduction to ACOI
•    Clinical Skills: details forthcoming! (Joint with Family Medicine Club)
•    Weird Medical History Trivia Night
•    Panelist Event (Student's choice for topic/speaker)

   
   2024 Spring Semester:

•    Clinical Skills: Intubation, EKG, Injection/IV Access (Joint with Cardiothoracic Club)
•    Board Review Series: Pharmacology focus and Student's Choice
•    OMS-IV IM-Match Panel
