Our Mission
The Medical Student Pride Alliance (MSPA) is an activist and social organization committed to empowering sexual and gender minority medical students and allies, increasing the number of physicians trained in LGBTQ-inclusive healthcare, and addressing the unique needs of LGBTQ+ communities through research, advocacy, and service. Ohio Pride is committed to creating an environment that empowers sexual and gender minority students, alongside their allies, at OUHCOM. Paramount to our mission is preparing medical students to provide superior LGBTQ-inclusive healthcare, promoting the diversification of OUHCOM faculty and staff, and advocating for the supplementation of our curriculum with LGBTQ-inclusive learning.

We provide support systems and comradery for LGBTQ studnets and their allies, opportunites to learn more about caring for LGBTQ patients, and last year we worked on a supply drive for the women's shelter, as intersectionality is paramount to our community. This year, I would like to look at possibly adding more philanthropic events, such as a gala or fundraiser for the Trevor Project.
Tentative Schedule for 2026-2027
We are going to kick off with a very lowkey intro event to garner new members. starting early I would like to have a chipotle or cane's fundraiser to boost club funds. In september we will attend the Gender Affirming Fall Fest again, and hopefully get together another Transgender health panel. Around halloween I want to maybe have some kind of party/fundraiser for the Trevor Project. In the late fall I'd like to try our Drag OMM event again Near thanksgiving hosting a little Friendsgiving event. In the spring, we can have the usual Sex Positive Education night, and hopefully host another clothing swap with MSFC. And lastly, for DO day of service, we will likely run the drive for the women's shelter again
