iLab Classroom Activity Teaching Roles & Credit

iLab Team (2-3 people)

  • Duties
    • Plan the learning activity with the iLab team
    • Prepare/Update session guides that include resources & objectives (RAP and Exam)
    • Write/update required assessment items (RAPS/Pre-quiz/Post-quiz, Practice Quiz, and Content Exam as appropriate)
    • Be present for the entirety of the learning activity and facilitate student learning
    • Attend pre-planning and post-program reflection meeting(s) with the team
  • Credit: 8 hrs total (2 contact + 6 prep)
    • Repeat offering of the same activity will receive contact time only (2hrs)

iLab Coordinator (1 person)

  • Duties
    • All duties listed above for the Team plus the following administrative duties
      • Initiate, schedule and organize team meetings to plan activity
      • Act as the administrative point of contact for the activity
      • Ensure completion and submission of session guides to OME
      • Initiate faculty discussion in planning of RAP questions, oversee post-lab handling of RAPs
  • Credit: 10 hrs total (2 contact + 8 prep)
    • Repeat offering of the same activity will receive contact time only (2 hrs)

iLab Consultant (number as needed)

  • Duties
    • Consult with Team to provide expertise-related perspective
    • NOT expected to attend the learning activity
  • Credit: 2 hrs (0 contact + 2 prep)
    • Repeat offering of the same activity will receive 0 credit

iLab Panelist (HCOM faculty member, number as needed)

  • Duties
    • Review the Learning Objectives of the activity in which the panel is being held
    • Participate in student discussion during the learning activity
    • Address student questions that arise after activity, as needed
  • Credit: 3 hrs total (2 contact + 1 prep)
    • Repeat offerings of the same activity will receive contact time only (2 hrs)

Medical Morphology Lab Roles & Credit

MM Lab Team (All MM Instructional Faculty. In Athens an additional tenure-track faculty member and grad students)

  • Duties
    • Review all materials for the learning activity, including reading assignments, pre-recorded content, prosections, question of the day, and assessment items, prior to planning meeting
    • Participate in weekly planning meeting to discuss and finalize logistics and all associated learning materials for the activity
    • Assist with the generation of assessment items, including RAPs
    • Assist with prosection generation, when needed
    • Be present for the entire learning activity and facilitate student learning
    • Assist with lab set-up and clean-up
    • Assist with post-activity review of activity
    • Assist with addressing student questions, during and after session
  • Credit: 7 hrs total (2 contact + 5 prep)
    • Repeat offering of the same activity will receive contact time only (2 hrs)

MM Lab Room Coordinator (1 person per campus where Lab Coordinator is not)

  • Duties
    • All duties listed above for MM Lab Team Member plus
      • Supervise TAs and new faculty in the room
      • Ensure that the labs have the appropriate resources required for the activity as directed by the MM Lab Coordinator
      • Be the point-person for campus specific communication from the MM Lab Coordinator
      • Deliver the lab introduction to the students
  • Credit: 9 hrs total (2 contact + 7 prep)
    • Repeat offering of the same activity will receive contact time only (2 hrs)

MM Lab Coordinator (1 person)

  • Duties
    • All duties listed for MM Lab Room Coordinator plus the following administrative duties
      • Prepare/Update and submit session guides that include objectives (RAP & Exam) and updated resources, including pre-records
      • Write/update required assessment items (RAP, Practice Quiz, and Content Exam as appropriate)
      • Write the Question of the Day and clinical themes, develop in-lab ppts and other materials for the lab
      • Initiate faculty discussion in planning of RAP questions, oversee post-lab handling of RAPs
      • Run weekly planning meeting
      • Coordinate communication between three campuses
      • Serve as administrative contact
      • Address post-activity and post-assessment issues/questions
  • Credit: 13 hrs total (2 contact + 11 prep)
    • Repeat offering of the same activity will receive contact time only (2 hrs)

MM Lab Consultant (As needed)

  • Duties
    • Consult with MM Lab Team to provide expertise-related perspective
    • NOT expected to attend the learning activity
  • Credit: 2 hrs (0 contact + 2 prep)
    • Repeat offering of the same activity will receive 0 credit

Small Group Roles & Credit

Coach (1 per group)

  • Duties
    • Facilitate group process to ensure students engage in active group learning to achieve session level objectives
    • Evaluate student portfolio submissions
    • Complete bi-semester evaluations of student performance
  • Credit: 3 hrs/week/group (2 contact + 1 prep)

On-call Coach (1 per timeslot)

  • Duties
    • Be available to substitute into a Small Group at the assigned time
      • Time must be held as available in the event that the on-call position is activated
  • Credit: 2 hrs/week/group (2 contact)

Clinical Skills Lab Roles & Credit

Team (Variable # of people)

  • Duties
    • Review the content of the activity prior to the session
    • Plan the learning activity with the team (as needed)
    • Be present for the entirety of the learning activity and facilitate student learning
    • Attend pre-planning and post-program reflection meeting(s) with the team (as needed)
    • Complete all work associated with the activity as assigned by the Clinical Skills Liaison
  • Credit: 4 hrs total (2 contact + 2 prep)
    • Repeat offering of the same activity will receive contact time only (2 hrs)

Room Lead (1 person per campus where Lab Lead is not)

  • Duties
    • All those of Team plus the following
      • Ensure that the labs have the appropriate resources required for the activity as directed by the Overall Lab Lead
      • Be the point-person for campus specific communication from the Lab Lead
  • Credit: 4 hrs total (2 contact + 2 prep)
    • Repeat offering of the same activity will receive contact time only (2 hrs)

Lab Lead (1 person)

  • Duties
    • All those of Team plus the following administrative duties
      • Plan the learning activity
      • Write/update required assessment items
      • Initiate, schedule and organize team meetings to plan activity, as needed

  • Duties
