Clinical Education Site Assignment Process | CESAP

All Heritage College students will receive confirmation of their Clinical Education Cohort Site assignment for Years 3 and 4 during their second year of the PHWC curriculum. The assignment processes vary slightly by campus to align with campus admissions criteria, regional clinical partner agreements, and the Clinical Education Network support structure.

Athens

Athens Campus students matriculate on the Athens Campus for pre-clinical education and are assigned to a Clinical Education Cohort Site through a process exclusive to Athens Campus students, known as the Athens Campus-Clinical Education Site Assignment Process (AC-CESAP). The assignment process typically occurs over the fall semester of their second year, allowing students ample time to plan and prepare for relocation if assigned to a site outside of Athens.

As part of the extensive Clinical Education Network, there are generally 10-11 Clinical Education Cohort Sites across the state that participate in the AC-CESAP.  The site assignment is determined by an algorithm, but students and hosting clinical partners have the opportunity to provide input into the assignment process.

Cleveland

Cleveland Campus students matriculate on the Cleveland Campus and are assigned to a Clinical Education Cohort Site automatically by Clinical Education through their campus.  Cleveland students remain in the greater Cleveland area for their third and fourth years.

Dublin

Dublin Campus students matriculate on the Dublin Campus for pre-clinical education and are assigned to a Clinical Education Cohort Site automatically by Clinical Education through their campus.  Dublin students remain in the central Ohio area for their third and fourth years.

All students may opt to trade their Clinical Education Cohort Site assignment only during a specified trade period following the AC-CESAP.
