New Cost Share Course Available

Professional Development Pathways (PDP) provides tools, guidance, and learning opportunities for employees and supervisors who want to invest in talent development and career growth. The following courses are new professional development opportunities available within the PDP Purchasing certificate:

Cost Share at OHIO University

This course provides an overview of the types of cost share, how cost share is tracked and reported, monitoring cost share, and Planning Unit responsibilities for cost share.

Estimated course length is approximately 1 hour, and Grants Accounting Fundamentals is a pre-requisite.

Learning Objectives: 

  • Define Cost Share
  • Recognize the Impact of Cost Sharing
  • Differentiate between Allowable and Unallowable Cost Share
  • Document and Account for Cost Share
  • Identify Requirements for Reporting Cost Share

Cash Handling & Credit Card Awareness (UPDATE)

While not a new course, the pre-existing Cash Handling and Credit Card Awareness Training has been updated to ensure ongoing compliance with cash handling and Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance requirements.  Anyone who handles cash or credit cards at the university needs to take this course every year in order to retain the ability to handle cash and credit card transactions. In addition, faculty and staff who take this course and earn a badge in the PDP program will need to retake this course every year for the course to count towards meeting certificate requirements.

These courses are e-learning courses, available to university faculty and staff. Faculty and staff can  register for PDP courses by going to the Courses page on the OHIO Professional Development Pathways website and click the “Register” link for the desired course.
